A crowded concert hall, audience buzzing with anticipation.  A shower curtain depicting planet earth adorns one wall.  And on the stage, amongst the many diverse and exotic instruments, a special scoreboard sits, registering zero.

Five brave musicians wait in the wings.  They’re all fine players, with wide experience in music from a variety of cultures.  They’ve all been in tight corners before – rumbled by rubato, crumbling in a cadenza, ostracised by ostinato, but now they face their greatest challenge yet…
